Thursday Dec 9, 2010 Class is at the Ridge: SEVA Benefit
For many years, the Sufi Order International Centre in Vancouver (aka Caravan of the Message) has been a supporter and benefactor of SEVA Canada.
This Thursday, as part of Banyen Books’ 40th anniversary, there is a benefit for SEVA featuring a great new film on Wavy Gravy and a Skype-in with Ram Dass. Given our longstanding relationship with SEVA, and the singular opportunity to see this documentary on a great planetary citizen and visit with Ram Dass, we are redirecting our Thursday evening gathering to the event below this week! Start-time is 7 pm.
A unique evening celebrating spiritual activists Ram Dass and Wavy Gravy, who show us how to open our hearts more fully.

Wavy Gravy

Ram Dass
The evening includes
- ‘skype in” with Ram Dass from Maui
- a short film of Ram Dass
- a book signing of Ram Dass’s new book Be Love Now by co-author Rameshwar Dass
AND
- The showing of the award-winning film, Saint Misbehavin’ about Wavy Gravy, who has been described as the “illegitimate son of Harpo Marx and Mother Theresa.”
This is a benefit for Seva Canada’s sight restoration and blindness prevention work. Almost 30 years ago, Seva was founded by a group of eminent doctors and visionaries among them, Ram Dass and Wavy Gravy.
Tickets are $20 and are available at Banyen Books, 604-737-8858 or at The Ridge box office on-line at festivalcinemas.ca

Sept 16, 2010 House Blessings at Chloe and Amir’s
The blessing of our home was a very deeply moving experience for me. The blessing of God permeated every nook and cranny of our home and our Centre members brought much love and light. Through the Universal Worship and House Blessing, the sense God’s love and light in our home has been strengthened and deepened. … Chloe
After years of hosting Thursday classes, sharing the teachings of Hazrat Inayat Khan’s Universal Sufism, much song and sharing of food, you would think that the house hosting all of these activities would be filled with enough good vibrations to last several lifetimes.
Nevertheless, a house blessing has never been done on Chloe and Amir’s house, which is also the Vancouver branch of the Sufi Order International. Next Thursday, this will entail leading a procession throughout all the rooms of the house and creating an even greater vibration of peace, joy, abundance, ease, harmony, and health.
Please feel free to join us for the 8pm start.

Our first Fall 2010 Event: Kirtan Sat Sept 11, 2010
Update: Our first Universal Kirtan of the 2010 season was not only a joyous celebration for all those who attended, but it was also a financial and soul offering to those affected by the floods in the Himalayas. Our contribution will be matched by the Canadian government to help those millions of people displaced by the floods.
The Caravan of the Message is starting up again after the summer break with Universal Kirtan on Saturday September 11th at Yoga on 7th.
Then our Thursday classes start with a house blessing on Thursday September 16th.
Please join us if you can.
